About Doraemon 2: Nobita and the Temple of Light

Doraemon 2: Nobita and the Temple of Light or Doraemon 2: Nobita to Hikari no Shinden is the second game in the Japanese exclusive Doraemon trilogy on the Nintendo 64. In the game, you play as Noby and all his friends featured in the classic anime as you traverse the world of Crysteka on a mission to return the Crystal of Light to its pedestal within the Temple of Light.

Speedrunning Doraemon 2: Nobita and the Temple of Light

Doraemon 2 is a very strange speedrun in all honesty. There are many unskippable cutscenes (of which are a major point of contention in regards to finding time saves in the form of skipping the cutscenes).

In regards to the current route and run, the run features a lot of movement. In particular repeat traversals across the same terrains multiple times. As such this makes a great speed game for beginners who want to work on developing better pathing/lines. The run can be a bit "mash" heavy at times because text boxes can be dismissed as quickly as you can press the "A" button. The run also features some interesting quick kill strategies, menuing and a heavy degree of memorization given all of the repeat visits to various areas within the game.
